Beloit Runs Past Southeast of Saline

The Southeast of Saline Trojans failed to take advantage of opportunities as they lost their first game of the season 42-0 to Class 3A No. 2 Beloit.
Beloit opened the scoring in the first quarter with a two-yard score to lead 6-0 after one.
In the second quarter, Bowe Behymer had a 24-yard rushing touchdown, pushing the Beloit lead to 12-0. Tanner Niemczyk added a 10-yard touchdown run to give Beloit a 20-0 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, Beloit continued to pull away with a 32-yard scoring run by Behymer and another four-yard touchdown run. Beloit added a 13-yard pass from Payton Vetter to Behymer in the fourth quarter for the final margin of 42-0.
Southeast of Saline had the ball inside the Beloit 10-yard line three times in the game, but failed to get touchdowns. All three of the possessions were in the first two-and-a-half quarters of the game.
Behymer had 240 yards rushing on 17 carries to pace Beloit. Beloit racked up 404 yards on the ground and totaled 431 yards of offense in the game. Southeast of Saline was limited to 219 yards, with 136 rushing yards.
Dane Long had 15 carries for 98 yards to lead Southeast of Saline.
Southeast of Saline drops to 5-1, while Beloit moves to 6-0. Southeast of Saline hosts Sacred Heart on Friday.
