Kansas State almost pulled off the upset, but that didn’t cut it.
The Wildcats were edged by No. 18 Oklahoma State 43-37 over the weekend. K-State had a chance late in the game, but an offensive pass interference in the end zone with 10 seconds left pushed the Cats back to the Cowboy 13. Quarterback Jesse Ertz threw an interception on the next play.
Oklahoma State burned KSU’s defense to the tune of 637 yards. Quarterback Mason Rudolph threw for 457 yards and five touchdowns. He was picked off twice, one that was a pick six.
Kansas State’s offense wasn’t bad, racking up 432 yards while turning the ball over just once. Ertz led the charge with 153 yards and three scores on 30 carries. Alex Barnes was solid, too, going for 72 on eight rushes.
K-State has the week off before traveling to No. 17 Baylor next Saturday.
On Tuesday, coach Bill Snyder met with members of the media to recap the most recent game of the season.
