Spirit of the Season in Salina

The spirit of Christmas, and the holiday season, was in the air in Salina on Saturday. Multiple events throughout town ushered the holiday season to town.

The fun began early at the Central Mall with “Breakfast with Santa”. The event featured prizes to go along with breakfast. Of course, the highlight was the arrival of Santa.

Downtown Salina had a full day of events. The 25th Annual Christmas Festival featured cookies with Mrs. Claus at the Flower Nook, pictures with Santa at the Art Center, antique fire truck rides, and horse drawn carriage rides.

The Christmas Parade of Lights, the biggest, and brightest parade of the year, was the highlight of the day for many. A large crowd gathered along Santa Fe to watch the brightly lit and colored vehicles and floats, many decorated for the season, parade down the street.
