A federal appeals court will hear oral arguments in September in an appeal that could affect the voting rights of thousands of voters in Kansas, Georgia and Alabama in upcoming elections.
The USD 306 Southeast of Saline bond issue does not pass. Voters rejected the issue 834 to 261.
According to the district, it was seven months ago that the USD 306 Board of Education released the community concept plans for renovations and additions to Southeast of Saline’s facilities. The Board of Education wants to thank all who got involved in the dialogue about what the district needs to continue preparing students for excellence in education. There were many people who invested their time and resources to study the issue and become informed about those needs.
The additional input from the community that was gained over these months will be used in addressing the district’s growing needs including:
• Relocating offices to address safety concerns including public access to the building, parking and technology infrastructure;
• 21st century classrooms for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) and Career and Technical Education Programs including, Family and Consumer Sciences, Construction Arts, Agronomy, Woods and Fine Arts;
• Repairs to the track and football field;
• Upgrades to create additional building efficiencies.
