Soldiers Coming Home For Christmas

KSAL Staff - December 14, 2015 5:15 pm

More than a hundred Fort Riley soldiers are helping University of Kansas researchers study how intense running affects wounded soldiers with mild traumatic brain injury.

A group of Fort Riley soldiers are coming home from deployment in time for Christmas.

According to the Army, more than 20 Soldiers with the 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 1st Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade, are set to return soon from a nine-month deployment to Kuwait.

While deployed, the battalion’s Soldiers were responsible for planning, oversight and resources for troops in five countries and 11 locations. The battalion supported Operations Spartan Shield and Inherent Resolve.

The unit departed Fort Riley in mid-March.

All members of the “Pacesetters” battalion are expected to be home in time for the holiday season.
