Sobriety Checkpoints Thursday Night

Salina Police are planning to crack down on drunk drivers around the city Thursday evening into early Friday morning.

City wide DUI checklanes are planned for tonight with five officers and one supervisor participating.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News the program will operate from 10:30pm Thursday night through 2:30am Friday morning.

The effort is funded through a Impaired Driver Deterrence Program grant from the Kansas Department of Transportation.
