Snow Blankets Area

A blanket of light snow that fell across a wide area of Kansas late Wednesday into early Thursday is making things look a lot like Christmas, but not causing a lot of problems.

Snowfall amounts range from a trace to up 5 inches in some areas. The Salina area received 2 to 3 inches. A little further north, in the Concordia area, 5 inches was reported.

The snow did make some roads slick, but did not cause any major travel problems. Other than a few delays there also were not any issues with area schools.

The snow that did fall will not be around long. Temperatures will rise into the 40s by the weekend, and even into the lower 50s by early next week.
