Smoky Valley Splits With Concordia

Smoky Valley split a pair of games Friday night at home as the Viking girls gave Concordia all they wanted with a tremendous game.

The Vikes outscored the Panthers 18-13 in the third quarter but just could not find the final shot to tie the game, allowing Concordia to hold on for a 47-45 win. Freshman Bre Franklin led the Vikings with 13 points and Jordon Otto added 11.

In boys action, Concordia raced out to a 18-8 first quarter lead, only to see Smoky Valley come back and take a 23-22 lead into the locker room at the half.

Smoky the just kept the Panthers at bay extending their lead to 34-27 after 3 quarters and winning by the score of 44-27.

Jacob Adams and Nick Reinert each had 18 for the Vikings who will be on the road at Hesston on Tuesday.
