A significant severe weather day is expected on Tuesday across portions of Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas. According to the National Weather Service, an outbreak of severe storms is possible.

Forecasters are cautioning that supercell storms will be possible. Storms that develop will be capable of producing long track tornadoes and destructive hail up to baseball size.

In Kansas, the biggest threat will be across much of central and eastern part of the state, especially from the afternoon through about midnight.

Citizens are urged to be prepared and review their severe weather safety plans ahead of time.

Storms are also possible on Sunday, but a widespread outbreak is not anticipated.
