Signed Stones Guitar Up For Bid

This February, fans of the Rolling Stones will have a chance to own a guitar autographed by the band – if the price is right at the 27th Annual CAPS Celebrity Benefit Auction.

Executive Director at Child Advocacy and Parenting Services, Lori Blake tells KSAL News that the exclusive guitar is just one of the premiere items up for grabs.

“We used to write letters to all of these people in production and try and get signatures on things and have them shipped in,” Blake said.

“Now we buy these items and we look for a reserve to be met before they’ll be sold. We get some fantastic things that are certified so we know they are really their signatures instead of who knows what.” Blake says the guitar is signed by members, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Ronnie Wood and Bill Wyman.

Blake added a Star Wars movie poster signed by the original cast will also be up for bid, along with hundreds of other items, services and vacation getaways.

According to Blake the benefit auction funds one tenth of the organization’s yearly budget and is a cash match for many state grants the organization depends on.

The event raised nearly $85,000 in 2015.

This year’s CAPS Celebrity Benefit Auction will be held Saturday, February 6th at the 4-H Building from 10am to 2pm with lunch prepared by Chef Bill Fekas and auctioneer services provided by Eric Blomquist.
