Sheriff’s Office On Hold in Toddler’s Death

The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting further autopsy results after a toddler dies.

According to Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, deputies were called to Salina Regional Health Center last Wednesday after an 18-month old boy was brought to the hospital by his father with a head injury.

Sheriff Kochanowski tells KSAL News that after surgery was performed in Salina, the toddler was then transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

The boy died on November 8th and an autopsy was done Saturday the 9th.

Sheriff Kochanowski says the initial results of the autopsy have been inconclusive in determining the cause of death.

The Sheriff’s Office became involved in the case because one of the parents lives in Saline County.
