The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is awaiting further autopsy results after a toddler dies.

According to Sheriff Glen Kochanowski, deputies were called to Salina Regional Health Center last Wednesday after an 18-month old boy was brought to the hospital by his father with a head injury.

Sheriff Kochanowski tells KSAL News that after surgery was performed in Salina, the toddler was then transported to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.

The boy died on November 8th and an autopsy was done Saturday the 9th.

Sheriff Kochanowski says the initial results of the autopsy have been inconclusive in determining the cause of death.

The Sheriff’s Office became involved in the case because one of the parents lives in Saline County.

Please take a moment to pray for peace and resolution for this boy’s family. Unfortunately, whatever the outcome, there is a mountain of final expenses left behind. Please join us in raising money to lay this sweet boy to rest.

This is very sad and I truly hope it was an accident. One thing I do not understand is why when something happens like this others are asked to foot the bills and funeral expenses. One would think if people are going to have children an they have no money for something such as this they would carry insurance both life and medical. Any more it is so easy to ask others to pay for their misfortune and it is not up to others to do so.

@Fuchs Mi, as I stated in my other response to this exact same post on Salina Post, I am not affiliated with the family, and they have asked for nothing. They are my neighbors and they’re experiencing a hardship. Unfortunately some people do not plan for something like this to occur and are left struggling when accidents like this occur. This sweet, blameless child still deserves to be laid to rest, regardless of his parents’ insurance situation. I happen to personally believe that we were taught to love thy neighbors as ourselves.

All that is fine Meghan you open your check book and help them but evidently you are unaware to exactly what did occur and you have taken on a role to promote this matter when you should not. You are pulling on others heart strings to get money out of them when responsibilities are the families problem. If down the road the family needs help then they should ask for it. Seemsto me you do not know how much money or insurance the family has to handle this matter.

Very good point Fred. Why others put their nose into other peoples business is beyond me. Did they come to her and ask her to do this? I am not against helping anyone that has a legit reason and personally asks for help. We still do not know what happened here that caused this horrible thing to happen which in itself is very strange. Also just as strange is the immediate involvement of this Meghan gal. Somethings are just not adding up.

Here, let me just copy and paste from my comments on Salina post for the exact same article since some would like to spread speculation all over the internet…

Pointing fingers when NOTHING has been released by the police does nothing but hurt the innocent. You’re not convicting the person that harmed a child (if that’s what happened) by spewing your judgement on a very vague news article. PLEASE keep that in mind before you start typing. Words DO hurt, and in this time of horrible tragedy, causing more hurt is not the answer.

I pray you are never in this situation…people don’t expect their babies to die. Showing a little grace and respect will take you a lot further in life than your judgement of others.

As the article states, there is an investigation going on, so details are not allowed to be shared in full at this time, as with ANY OTHER investigation. If you would like to wait to donate until after all information is released, that is within your right. Until then, again, please stop being a nosey neighbor and allow the innocent the respect they deserve in this time of tragedy.

Here’s the link to the donation site for when you are ready

I also suggest you sign up for some criminal justice courses, since that seems to be your passion on the internet. Perhaps then you could do some good instead of being an “armchair lawyer” behind your fake user names

This was a horrible tragedy. And I do personally know some of the family. I was informed today that funeral arangements have been taken care of. What you are doing is amazing and I am sure innocent. But I honestly do not understand the fund raiser? When the hospital bills come in and (the child was medically insured). Then I would think that would be the appropriate time. What you are doing for your neighbors is awesome. But I am confused as to what mountain of final expenses? Maybe the authorities could check into all of this, to rest everyone’s mind at ease?

Boy this gets deeper and deeper another one promoting people to send money. This is really starting to smell of SCAM.

I am more than willing to answer any questions the authorities may have in regards to the fundraising. This is ridiculous. Please feel free not to contribute if you feel your donations may be mismanaged.
