A tractor trailer truck rolled and burst into flames near McPherson Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the rollover happened on K 153 Highway south of McPherson.

The McPherson Police Department reported that the truck was pulling a tanker hauling diesel fuel, or oil. The McPherson Fire Department needed to let the fire burn due to personnel safety.

Authorities stressed that though a lot of smoke was visible, there was no danger to the city.

One person was killed in the crash. Further details were not immediate available.
