Saline County Alllowing Concealed Guns In Some Buildings

Concealed guns are being allowed in a couple of Saline County buildings. A couple of buildings are no longer exempt from conceal carry laws.

Saline County Commissioners are electing to allow concealed weapons in the road and bridge department buildings at 3424 N. Airport Road and at the livestock and expo buildings in Kenwood Park.

Buildings where concealed guns are allowed include the 4-H Building, Kenwood Hall, Ag Hall, and Tri Rivers Stadium.

The buildings had previously been temporarily exempted from the Personal and Family Protection Act, which became law July 1st.

The new law allows concealed weapons in public buildings that do not have “adequate security”. Generally, “adequate security” means airport-type electronic security equipment, and security staff.

Cities and counties can exempt their buildings from the new law for six months.
