Krista Blair’s lottery prize is a great example of beginner’s luck! She says she played Keno for the very first time last week and, much to her amazement, won a $25,234 prize.
The Salina woman purchased an 8-Spot Keno with Bull’s-eye ticket for five games, at $4 per game ($2 per play, plus an additional $2 for Bull’s-eye). On the fifth game, she matched all 8 of her numbers, but not the Bull’s-eye, to win $20,000, plus a progressive jackpot of $5,234.
Not only was it the first time Blair had played Keno, the 36-year-old winner also picked the numbers herself.
“I decided to play Keno just because I was curious about the game,” said Blair. “I used my daughter’s birthday and the year she was born, plus my current age, and then picked a few random numbers. I couldn’t believe it when I won!”
This isn’t the first lottery luck Blair has experienced. She won $1,000 on a $20 The Big Money Game instant scratch ticket a couple of months ago, and has been playing more lottery games since then. She said her latest big win came at just the right time.
“I’m getting married this summer and we’re planning a big wedding, 150 people,” This money will definitely help with the wedding expenses and with our honeymoon.”
Blair purchased her Keno ticket at Rod’s Shamrock 2, located at 1339 North 9th Street in Salina.
