Salina Woman Drives Stolen Truck, Arrested

A young Salina woman is in police custody after being arrested yesterday for driving a stolen vehicle with stolen tags and for possession of methamphetamine.

Jenifer Sharp, 18 of Salina, is the alleged suspect. The vehicle was stolen out of Kansas Wesleyan University’s Wilson Hall parking lot Tuesday. The tags were reported on Tuesday also, but from a resident on the 800 block of Gypsum.

An officer spotted the 2006 GMC Sierra on the 1200 block of Ninth Street, and after running the tags, found that they were stolen.

When the officer began to pursue the truck, Sharp turned quickly onto Euclid and abandoned the vehicle. Police were able to locate her quickly, and found that she had methamphetamine in her possession.

The case remains under investigation.
