A Salina teen is in police custody after she was involved in a short flee and elude early this morning.

The teenager was reported by her mother around 3:30AM when the mother called the police saying the daughter stole her 2002 Saturn and had left the house.

Police spotted the vehicle at 9th St and Crawford. When police approached, the car refused to yield. Police followed as she took them to the Dillon’s on Cloud Street and the Papa John’s parking lot. She lost the police for a while, but the car was eventually found abandoned on Lewis Street.

The girl went to school, where police then apprehended her.
