Salina Teen in Custody for Vandalism

A Salina teen is arrested for allegedly shooting out windows on cars and businesses at the Central Mall.

Police arrested 16-year-old Jacob Hewitt on Tuesday after a witness identified his car that was parked at Salina South High School.

Captain Chris Trocheck tells KSAL News that a BB-gun was found in Hewitt’s 1996 Geo Prizm.

The teen is being held in the Juvenile Detention Center in Junction City for allegedly shooting the windows at JC Penny, Dillards, Jo-Ann Fabrics and Sears at the Central Mall.

Mr. Goodcents, 2344 Planet Ave., also had one window shot out.

Police say 3 vehicles at the mall, two vehicles parked at South High School plus a couple of vehicles parked on Rockhurst and Allen were also damaged by BBs.

Total damage in the case is estimated at $7,400.
