Salina Saturday Fall Fun
KSAL Staff - September 26, 2015 3:00 pm
It was a perfect Autumn Saturday for Salina Autumnfest, and Smoky Hill Museum Street Fair events. After a wet Friday, the sun came out to dry things off on Saturday.
The day began with the Smoky Hill Museum Street Fair Parade down Santa Fe. A large crowd gathered along the route. The parade featured bands, dancers, businesses, military, and more.
Following the parade, many of those who watched headed over to the Smoky Hill Museum for the street fair. The street fair was a free day of celebration with music, games, crafts and activities, historic demonstrators, food vendors, and of course tours of the museum.
Autumnfest events in Oakdale Park were also popular. In the park there was Octoberfest theme. Activities included a German car show, kids activities food vendors, and local bands that included The Inklings, Bootleg Mercy, Rob Northcutt Band and The Dru Davis Band.
Autumnfest this year was a fund raising event for the Child Advocacy and Parenting Services organization.
