Salina Police Log 6-12-17

Salina Police are working with investigators in Wichita on a case of stolen identity after a person claiming to be that man from Wichita walked out of NexTech Wireless Central Mall location with 5 Apple iPhones worth $4,200. Police say the suspect convinced a staff member he was starting up a business and opened an account. The store got police involved when the Wichita man called up the Salina store to order 19 more phones.

 

Salina Police are investigating a break in at Salina Mini Storage located at 401 N. Santa Fe sometime between May 31 and June 6. Staff discovered the broken lock and contacted the owner. Police say numerous power tools and aircraft tools were taken. Loss and damage is listed at $2,200.

 

A stolen car was recovered in Salina after being involved in a chase with the Kansas Highway Patrol. Salina Police learned about the stolen vehicle when the owner reported the missing 2003 Buick LeSabre after it was recovered by KHP Troopers in 200 block of Penn Thursday night around 9pm. Owner Nathan Dimick told police he may have left the keys in the car he left parked in the driveway before falling asleep in his house on S. Connecticut.
