Officers arrested 23-year-old Mikal Terrell on Tuesday after staff at Bennington State Bank, 2130 S. Ohio contacted authorities after Terrell allegedly tried to cash a forged check. According to Captain Mike Sweeney, Terrell tried to obtain $700 in cash by forging a check that was stolen in July from a Derby, Kansas man.

Police are investigating a damage to property case after someone poured paint on a car. Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that sometime between 10pm Monday and 7am Tuesday , someone shattered a window before dumping gray paint onto the hood, roof and door of a maroon colored 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix. The car was parked in the 2600 block of Ray. Damage is listed at $1,500.
