UPDATE: Child Death Investigated As Homicide

Salina police are investigating the death of a 3-month-old male child, and two arrests are made.

Lt. Shawn Morton says the death was reported at 10:30 Thursday night in South Salina. A man and a woman were initially being questioned.

According to police,​ at this time, the Death is investigating this incident as a homicide. The investigation has led to the arrest of Desirah Nichole Overturf, 20 years of age, and Nicholas Jordan Corbin, 27 years of age. Both were booked into the Saline County Jail.

This investigation is currently under review by the Saline County Attorney’s Office who will file formal charges against Desirah Overturf and Nicholas Corbin.

​Results of an autopsy are pending.

The Salina Police Department is asking citizens with information regarding this investigation to call the Salina Police Department at (785)-826-7210.

I think you guys might have a typo here. The other two local media outlets are reporting that the child was 3 MONTHS old, NOT 3 years old!! Can you clarify this please????

We give alot of taxpayer monies to local agencies that are supposed to help people having problems with kids but evidently they do nothing. Salina is becoming the worst town in Kansas for children deaths by adults. We should be so proud. Time to pull monies from these agencies as they are not doing their jobs.
