UPDATE: Men Accused of Plotting Murder

Three Salina men have been arrested for allegedly plotting a murder. Kansas Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Doug Younger says that multiple officers from multiple agencies worked together late Sunday night and early Monday morning to make the arrests at locations throughout Salina.

Those arrested include:

Alex Karcher, 22, of 1616 Tanglewood Lane

Xavier McCray, 22, 1012 Pershing

Xavier Lewis, 24, of 2032 Norton

Each was booked into the Saline County Jail on a million dollar bond.

Younger said that the investigation is still ongoing, with 30 – 40 officers actively working it.

Younger said that he could not yet release any other details, including who the three were allegedly planning to kill, and why. He said officer safety was a concern.

Younger said it was fair to assume that is is drug related.

Officers from the KBI, I 135 / I 70 Drug Task Force, Salina Police Department, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, and the McPherson Police Department are all working on the case, and more arrests are possible.

The case is unrelated to the current unsolved murder in rural Saline County which is also currently under investigation.
