Salina Man Hurt in Motorcycle vs Car Crash

Salina Police worked an injury accident on Wednesday afternoon involving a car and a motorcycle.

Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that 51-year-old Fon Pierce of Salina was transported to St. Francis Via Christi Hospital in Wichita with multiple fractures to his right leg after he collided with a car that pulled out of Sunset Plaza on West Crawford.

Police say the 1993 Ford Crown Victoria driven by 60-year-old Frederick Thayer of Salina collided with Pierce’s 2007 Harley Davidson Road King at about 4:15pm.

Police say Pierce also suffered abrasions and cuts in the accident.

No citations have been issued as the investigation continues.
