Salina Man Gets Federal Prison Time For Drug / Gun Crimes

A Salina man has been sentenced to 78 months in federal prison on drug trafficking and firearms charges.

According to U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom’s office 46-year-old Chris Alan Martin pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. After investigators arranged to buy methamphetamine from Martin, the I-135 / I-70 Drug Task Force obtained a search warrant for his residence in Salina. Investigators seized methamphetamine and three handguns.

Martin was prohibited by federal law from possessing a firearm following a 2008 felony conviction for possession of methamphetamine.
