A man known to many in Salina for his love of the community theatre has passed away. The Salina Community Theatre announced the passing of Jack Stewart:

“It is with the deepest sadness that we have to say that the magnificent Jack Stewart has passed away. Jack was a true champion on the theatre, on stage and off. Jack was a driving force in the group that helped raise the money to build the Kephart Theatre, without which SCT would not have become the artistic and educational center that it is.”

Stewart, who was a long-time attorney in Salina, was credited as being one of the men who was instrumental in the founding of the Salina Community Theatre.

Funeral arrangements for Jack Stewart are pending.
