Salina Blue Cross Employees “Bigger Together”

Salina Blue Cross and Blue Shield employees are “bigger together” with the Salina Area Unite Way.

According to the company, the Salina-based employees of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Foundation contributed $6,312.56 to support the Salina Area United Way’s annual campaign drive.

The gift includes individual employee contributions as well as a $5,000 donation from the Foundation. BCBSKS employs 46 people in its Salina service center and district marketing office.

“We believe that part of being a good corporate citizen is making sure mployees have the opportunity to positively affect the well-being of the cities and neighborhoods they live and work in,” said Andrew C. Corbin, president/CEO of BCBSKS and of the BCBSKS Foundation. “By supporting the United Way our employees can help bring hope to children and families who need assistance. We thank United Way leaders for creating the vision to move our communities forward.”

In addition to the Salina campaign, BCBSKS employees and the Foundation also donated to United Way campaigns in Topeka, Wichita and Hutchinson. Overall, a combined donation of $252,828.05 was made to United Way campaigns this fall.
