Robbery at BK

A fast food clerk was robbed while closing a Salina restaurant early Friday morning.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that a 28-year-old male clerk was going through his closing procedures at Burger King at 316 E. Iron, when a man and woman entered the store at 1am and demanded money.

Police say the two battered him with repeated blows and left the restaurant with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim told officers the couple was dressed in pants and long sleeves and covered their faces with masks.

He said both were about 5-foot 8-inches tall and the woman had a husky build.

Captain Sweeney did not elaborate on how they were able to enter the store or how much money was taken.

The clerk did not require medical attention.
