A tractor-trailer has struck and killed a person involved in a two-vehicle wreck on the Kansas Turnpike southwest of Topeka.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that the victim and another person walked away after the initial accident Friday night. Kansas Turnpike Authority spokeswoman Rachel Bell said the victim was killed upon entering the roadway.

The name of the victim wasn’t immediately released.
