A new barbecue restaurant is planning to build a Salina location.

According to Salina Area Chamber of Commerce President Dennis Lauver, Rib Crib plans to expand into Salina.

Rib Crib is a restaurant specializing in barbecue and smoked meats. All locations share a common theme of rustic lodge-like surroundings.

The first Rib Crib opened in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1992. There are currently about 50 locations in eight states.

Rib Crib will build in front of the Lowe’s store on South 9th Street in Salina.
