Recent Rain Eases Kansas Drought

KSAL Staff - June 9, 2015 3:23 pm

One of the wettest months of May on record in Kansas has put an end to drought conditions across most of the state.

According to the National Weather Service,  while portions of western, northwest, and southern Kansas area still either abnormally dry, or in moderate drought, the rest of the state is now normal.

May 2015 was the 2nd wettest  on record. That compered to May 2014, which was the 6th driest on record.

The last time Kansas was drought free was back in late 2010.
