Pursuit, Injury Crash

An Ellsworth man is pulled from the wreckage of a stolen truck.

Forty-Four year-old Larry Jones was transported to Salina Regional Health Center with a broken arm, broken scapula, bruised ribs and a punctured lung after he crashed a 2000 Nissan Frontier pickup at the Brookville Cemetery on Brownhill Road.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski tells KSAL News that a deputy clocked Jones driving 75mph in a 45mph zone on K140 Highway just after midnight on Monday.

Jones led the deputy on a chase that ended about 8-minutes later when he crashed into a chain link fence at the cemetery.

The deputy helped Jones, who was pinned in the vehicle, to get out and contacted EMS.

Jones is now facing multiple charges that include possession of stolen property, speeding and fleeing and eluding.
