An ongoing construction project at a major Salina intersection is progressing.

According to the City of Salina, the contractor for the Kansas Department of Transportation will begin Phase Three of improvements to the intersection of
Cloud Street and 9th Street beginnng on Wednesday.

Traffic on 9th Street will shift to the west; traffic on Cloud Street will remain unchanged. Two-way traffic will be maintained. Left turns in the intersection will be prohibited.

Motorists should expect minor delays and are encouraged to find alternate routes.

Salina police have received numerous complaints about motorists disobeying signs at the intersection and making illegal turns. Officers have put an emphasis on watching the area while on patrol and have been writing multiple citations.
