Pot Confiscated, Two Arrested

A driver was arrested on Interstate-70 for possession of marijuana and driving under the influence.

Saline County Undersheriff Roger Soldan tells KSAL News that a deputy clocked an eastbound vehicle traveling 85-mph on I-70 early Saturday morning around 12:40am.

Deputies arrested 28-year-old Levi Regnier of Kansas City, KS about three miles west of Salina after investigators found about 1/2 pound of marijuana in his 2011 Honda Fit.

His passenger, Shawn Vanderpool, 20 of Lenexa was cited for possession and drug paraphernalia.

Soldan says EMS was called out because a deputy was concerned about the health of both men due to the overwhelming smell of marijuana in the car and both men acting very lethargic.

Deputies confiscated 299.9 grams of pot from the car, 47 Xanax pills and drug paraphernalia.
