Police Working on Two Burglaries

Salina Police are investigating two residential burglaries.

According to Captain Mike Sweeney, homeowners in the 1000 block of W. Republic came home Thursday evening to find their front door forced open and numerous items stolen.

Police say a diamond wedding ring valued at over $3,000 was taken as well as an Apple iPod Touch were removed sometime between 8:25am and 5:30pm.

Blank personal checks, about $70 in change from a drawer and a handful of cigarettes were also stolen. Total loss and damage is listed at $3728.

Officers were also called to a home in the 200 block of S.4th on Thursday afternoon, after the resident returned to find that several items were missing.

Police say a 40-inch Sony flat screen TV was taken as well as about $30 in change, some sunglasses and a half a pack of cigarettes.

Police report there was no sign of forced entry. Total loss is estimated at $240.
