A woman is treated at the hospital after being beaten by an acquaintance.

Police are looking for a known male suspect, after a woman called for help Tuesday night from a neighbors home in southwest Salina.

Officers say the man, who is in his 40’s allegedly hit the woman in the face multiple times and used his hands to strangle her.

At one point he threw her cell phone and smashed it as she ran for help.

Police say her eyes were swollen shut and her face had multiple bruises.

The incident occurred at about 10:30pm Tuesday evening.
