Police Respond To Threats At School

A threat prompted extra security measures at a Salina high school Tuesday. Threats from one student toward other students at Sacred Heart Jr / Sr High School prompted officials to secure all of the doors in the building, and contact police.

Salina Police Captain Mike Sweeney tells KSAL News that officers responded to the school, and are currently working a case involving a single student making verbal threats against other students. The student was removed from the school, pending the outcome of an investigation.

In a note sent to parents, the school said that the student has been suspended.

Captain Sweeney said that safety of the students is the number one priority. He added that appropriate action was taken, and there are no on-going safety concerns.
