Police Log: Cash and Welding Torch Stolen

Salina Police are investigating the theft of cash from a wallet left behind at the Casey’s General Store at 2404 S. 9th on Friday night. Police say 23-year-old Charlee Beckett of Webber Falls, Oklahoma left her wallet in the restroom around 10:30pm. She returned a short time later to discover her ID, debit card and $1,000 cash were missing.

Welding equipment is stolen. Police say someone removed a oxyacetylene torch from the back of a pick up that was parked in the 600 block of E. Crawford sometime between 5pm on Thursday and Friday morning at 8am. The torch is valued at $500.

Salina Police are investigating after a counterfeit $20 bill was used to make a purchase at the Casey’s General Store, 1100 E. Iron on Friday. Police are urging local merchants to be on the lookout for any suspicious looking bills.
