Police Log: Cash and Welding Torch Stolen

KSAL Staff - December 30, 2013 11:15 am

Salina Police are investigating the theft of cash from a wallet left behind at the Casey’s General Store at 2404 S. 9th on Friday night. Police say 23-year-old Charlee Beckett of Webber Falls, Oklahoma left her wallet in the restroom around 10:30pm. She returned a short time later to discover her ID, debit card and $1,000 cash were missing.

Welding equipment is stolen. Police say someone removed a oxyacetylene torch from the back of a pick up that was parked in the 600 block of E. Crawford sometime between 5pm on Thursday and Friday morning at 8am. The torch is valued at $500.

Salina Police are investigating after a counterfeit $20 bill was used to make a purchase at the Casey’s General Store, 1100 E. Iron on Friday. Police are urging local merchants to be on the lookout for any suspicious looking bills.

Seems like crime continues at a rapid pace even with a new police chief that still has not made a public appearance. So what improvement did we get in that position. Looks like Gage hired a like chief that we already had here who did nothing. The taxpayers need to demand Gage be replaced with someone who would work for them and not special interests.

$1000 in cash right? If she had that much in her wallet she would have looked after it alot better.
