Salina Police are looking for a group of people who may have been rifling through vehicles in the 2000 block of Shalimar. Officers responded to the neighborhood around 4:30am Friday morning after a homeowner saw someone rummaging through his next door neighbor’s car. He also saw three other people in the street that jumped into a white Honda Civic that backed up and hit a city fire hydrant – before speeding away. Police say 4 vehicles were entered but nothing was reported stolen or damaged.

Police are looking for a stolen vehicle. Jeremiah Bastin told officers his red, 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck was stolen sometime between January 15th and January 16th between 8pm and 9am. Police say the truck was parked on the street in the 100 block of Baker when it was stolen. The keys may have been left in the vehicle. The license plate is Kansas 232 AWI.

Leave the keys in your auto you deserve to have it stolen. If you are stupid enought to leave keys in a auto with the current crime spree going on it will be long gone when you come out to use it again.
