PHOTO GALLERY: Final Swim of the Season

It was the final swim of the season Monday evening at Salina’s Kenwood Cove water park, and it went to the dogs. Literally.

Kenwood Cove stayed open a week later than usual this year, opening for evening water walking in the evenings on the final weekdays. The water park then opened over the weekend. It closed for the season on Sunday, but opened Monday evening for one final “Pooch Plunge”.

The event proved popular, with a large crowd of people enjoying the last swim of the summer with their best friend, their dog.

Only owners and their dogs were allowed in the water. They were able to swim in the wave pool and lazy river areas.

The “Pooch Plunge” is in its sixth year. The popular event has become the final event of the year at the water park.

Kenwood Cove is now closed for the season. It will open again on Memorial Day Weekend 2016.
