Pedestrian Hit on Dark Highway

KSAL Staff - April 13, 2016 11:42 am

A pedestrian is facing charges after she was hit by an SUV while she was walking on a dark highway early Wednesday morning.

Saline County Undersheriff Roger Soldan says that 21-year-old Mariah Bing was walking on the road in the 1900 block of East K-4 Highway at around 3:30 Wednesday morning.

A black 2008 Acura MDX driven by 32-year-old Jathan Show came upon her. Show swerved to miss the pedestrian, but clipped her with the passenger side mirror.

Bing was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center to be treated for injuries that could include a broken arm.  Show was not hurt.

Soldan says that Bing, who was walking away from a friend’s house in the area, was cited for being an intoxicated pedestrian. Show was not cited.
