The Kansas Highway Patrol says a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a semi-trailer in Cowley County.

Troopers say the deceased is 23-year-old Vance Lee Oliver of Winfield. The accident happened Sunday morning near the intersection of Kansas Highway 360 and U.S. 77.

The state highway patrol says Oliver was killed after stepping in front of the tractor-trailer.

Authorities say Oliver was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle’s driver was uninjured.
