Overweight Trucks Investigated by County

Kansas Highway Patrol are working on cutting down the number of overweight trucks on roads in Saline County.
The issue was raised at the county commissioners’ meeting last week by Saline County Sheriff’s Office. The largest concern that the overweight trucks raise is the incredible amounts of damage that the paved roads take.
To remedy the situation, four Kansas Highway Patrol units posted on roads in Saline County on the hunt for overweight trucks.
Of the five trucks pulled over, three were cited for their weight. Sheriff Glen Kochanowski says the efforts are ongoing, and says both private and commercial trucks should be aware of their weight.
