Over 72 Grams of Pot Seized on I-70

A speeding car’s occupants are arrested on Interstate-70 for possession of marijuana.

A Saline County Sheriff’s Deputy clocked a car just west of Salina traveling at 89-mph just after midnight on Saturday and stopped the car near mile post 247.

The officer smelled a strong odor of marijuana and a search revealed numerous bags of pot products tagged with names like: Flow Rider, Skunk, Sour Diesel and Snake Venom.

Deputies arrested 19-year-old Jerry Townsend of Shell Knob, MO and 18-year-old Brandon Wisely of Holiday Island, AR.

Both are facing charges of possession and intent to distribute a hallucinogenic.

Deputies confiscated 72.9 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia from the 2005 Pontiac Grand AM the two men were in.
