Ottawa County Seeking Cemetery Thief

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in catching a suspected thief.

The agency tells KSAL News that between March 3rd and March 7th someone broke into a storage shed at the Delphos Cemetery located on Kansas Highway 41, about 3 miles East of the City of Delphos.  Items taken included $2,310.00 worth of power equipment used for lawn maintenance and repair at the cemetery.

On March 22nd, a  male subject with brown spiked hair, wearing blue jeans and a black shirt with yellow” Led Zeppelin” written on the front entered the All Season’s Power Equipment store at 821 N. Broadway in Salina. He attempted to sell an Echo weed trimmer that was part of the equipment stolen from the cemetery burglary.  The owner of the store recognized the trimmers and ran the serial number on them to verify that they were in fact stolen. The male subject left with the trimmers in hand. He left walking down the alley to the West of the All Season’s store headed North.

The individual is wanted for questioning in the burglary and possession of the stolen property. Any information can be passed on to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office by calling (785)392-2157  or by emailing [email protected]  or [email protected] .
