Annuals V’s Perennials
I get this question a lot…..What is the Diff?
Annuals you plant every year and Perennials come back every year.
I get asked a lot which one would you plant…
There is a big diff between these two. The annuals give you the instant color but take a bit more care. Perennials flush out all at once and then need some good TLC called deadheading. Deadheading is the process in which the old spent flowers need to be cut or pinched off, this will help the plant produce new flowers faster.
So why would anyone want to plant annuals? Annuals are the instant color all summer long. Done…..some plants will need to be deadheaded but usually will keep a great amount of color all summer with a little water and fertilizer. Annuals are a bit cheaper in price but you will spend that money every year. Whereas the perennials are more expensive but only a one year purchase. Unless they don’t make it from year to year. I like to mix these two together. There will be color all season long with a bit of common maintenance.
