Brian M. Gillispie, 40, was found deceased on Sunday, April 29, 2017 at his residence in Manhattan, Kansas.
Brian was born in Salina, Kansas, August 29, 1976, to Leonard and Alma (Nieman) Gillispie. He graduated from Salina South High School in 1995 and attended University of Kansas and then Kansas State University, earning a BA in Psychology in 1999. He later returned to K-State earned a MS in Counseling and Student Personnel Services in 2004. He worked as a carpenter and later at the Salvation Army in Manhattan, Kansas. Mr. Gillispie had a lifelong love for movies, music, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America in 1992.
Brian is survived by two daughters: Ashlyn and Kamryn, Manhattan, Kansas, and his brother Tim and wife Maria Francia, of Overland Park, Kansas. Also surviving are his niece and nephews: Skylar Ward, Stillwater, Oklahoma; and Tijmen and Trigger Gillispie, Overland Park, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2017, at Saint Marys Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 230 E Cloud St, Salina, followed by a graveside service at the Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina. Memorials are suggested to the Flint Hills Breadbasket in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502
