Cris Carney, 52 of Solomon, Kansas passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at his home. He was born February 3, 1962 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Jerry Carney and Carolene (Kuntz) James.
He graduated from High School in Hedley, Texas in 1980. Cris worked as a welder and fabricator.
He was united in marriage to Dana McIver February 12, 2002 in Salina.
Cris is survived by his loving wife Dana Carney of the home. Daughter: Sali Mattison of Solomon. Two sons: C.J. Carney of Salina and Kin Gilfillan of Solomon. Parents: Jerry Carney and wife Helen of Solomon and Carolene James and Ed Bowles of Solomon. Three grandchildren: Caden, Jaci and Calvin. Brothers: Ken Carney and wife Marianna of Solomon. Scott Carney and wife Marsha of Solomon; Keenan Brown of Salina; Sisters: Sheri Brungardt and husband Todd of Solomon; Brenda Kliengbeil and husband Gary of Grapevine, Texas. Melissa Calub and husband Eric of Coppell, Texas; Linda Flynn and husband Steve of Abilene; Teresa Keener and husband Mark of Waldron, Arkansas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his dog Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Walter & Florence Kuntz and John and Edna Carney.
Funeral Services for Cris will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 28, 2014 at the Yoked Presbyterian Church in Solomon with Pastor Mik King officiating.
Burial will follow at the Prairie Mound Cemetery in Solomon.
Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 P.M at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Solomon.
