Arthur “Art” Miller, age 71, died Sun., Aug. 24, 2014 at Via Christi-St. Francis Campus, Wichita. He was born on June 21, 1943 in Rural Lincoln, KS to Irvin Arthur & Jo L. (Shaw) Miller, Sr.
Art served in the US Navy from 1960-64. He married Cathy J. Worley on May 23, 1970 in Concordia, KS. Art was a commercial truck driver all his life, working for Dahlsten Trucking, Clay Center, NE; Abrams Ready Mix, Concordia & Bourbon Trucking, Jewell. Art was an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Concordia serving as a lay reader and in a host of other capacities & a member of the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation, Salina. He was a lifetime member of America Legion Post #76 and was active in Boy Scouts.
He loved his grandchildren and all those who he adopted as a ‘Dad’ & ‘Grandpa’.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy, Concordia; son, Tony Miller & wife Kathleen, Aurora; daughter, Ticia Malcuit, Assaria; brothers, Robert Miller & wife Terry, Paradise, SC & Mark Miller & Tammy Depew, Glen Elder; sister, Marianna Richard & husband Bob, Beloit; uncle, Harold Miller & wife Elvira, Salina; aunt, Bonnie Musfelt, Salina; grandchildren, Angel, Michael, Azalia, Christopher, & Alizabeth (Bug) Malcuit & Kahlie, Katlynn & Keyan Miller; great grandson, Aidric Malcuit & numerous nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 AM on Sat., Aug. 30, 2014 at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Concordia with Rev. Randy McIntosh & Rev. Barney Gordon officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia with Military honors by American Legion Post #76 & VFW Post #588.
Visitation will be from 9 am to 9 pm with the family greeting friends from 7 to 9 pm, Fri, Aug. 29 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Episcopal Church of the Incarnation or the familys choice in care of the funeral home.
