Alfred “Al” Glavin, 76 of Abilene, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Memorial Hospital. He was born in Spivey, Kansas, December 28, 1937, the son of Harvey and Vera (Ferguson) Glavin.

He was united in marriage to Athagean Green, December 7, 1957 in Fairbury, Nebraska. She survives of the home.

Al worked for ALCO as security guard in Abilene, retiring this year after 11 years. He also worked for Tonys Pizza for 20 years, Renzenberger Railroad and a farmhand/laborer at Clemence Feedlot.

Al is survived by -
Loving wife: Athagean of the home
Two daughters: Cleta Robinson and husband Tony
Teresa Glavin both of Abilene
Son: Chris Glavin and wife Jodi of Solomon
Three brothers: Alex, Kenny and Jesse Glavin
Two Sisters: Dot Davis
Minnie Davidson
6 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard Glavin.

Funeral Services for Al will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Carlson-Becker Funeral Home in Solomon with Pastor Todd Burrow officiating.

Burial will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery in Solomon.

Friends may come by the funeral home to sign the guest book from 9 A.M. until 6 P.M. Friday.

Memorials may be given in his name to the Al Glavin Memorial Fund.
