Richard Dennis "Dick" Goss, 66, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away at 9:45 p.m., Tuesday, August 19th, 2014 at North Kansas City Hospital, North Care Hospice House, North Kansas City, Missouri.
Richard was born in McPherson, Kansas on February 23, 1948, a son of the Virginia Lee (Roseberry) and William H. Goss.
Dick attended Lincoln Elementary School, McPherson Park School and graduated from McPherson High School all of McPherson, Kansas. He then attended McPherson College and later University of Maryland while in the Army.
He was a member of Freemount Lutheran Church of Lindsborg, Kansas.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Sargent in the Vietnam War.
Dick worked at Swick-Guth and NCRA both of McPherson, Kansas, Northwest Motor Welding of Anaheim California, Hays Mack, Hays, Kansas, and was a Sales Consultant for Westfall GMC of Kansas City, Missouri.
Dick was a former member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2715 of McPherson and later a member in Greenville, Mississippi. Dick enjoyed reading, volunteer work, he taught Sunday school in the different churches through the years, he also loved food, always wanting to go and try different restaurants, and look up new recipes that he could try.
On July 22, 1978 Richard D. Goss was united in marriage to Dianna Lynn Roush at New Gottland Lutheran Church, in rural McPherson, Kansas.
He is survived by his Wife Dianna Lynn Goss, of Kansas City, Missouri; his children Jeffrey Goss, of Canton, Ohio, Angel Peterson, of Alliance, Ohio, Chris Goss, of Kansas City, Missouri, Nick Goss, of Olathe, Kansas; Siblings, Rodney Goss, of Pueblo, Colorado, Randy and wife Kay Goss, of McPherson, Kansas, David Goss, of McPherson, Kansas; his 8 Grandchildren, Devin and Breanna Peterson, Cody Seibert, Kaylee Ruiz, Lyric and Jada Goss, Quinn, Aierona, Aiden and Presley Goss
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Freemount Lutheran Church, Lindsborg, Kansas, with Reverend James A. Harrison officiating.
The final resting place will be at McPherson Cemetery, McPherson, Kansas.
